Achieve TMS East, with 11 locations in Massachusetts, is the largest provider of Brainsway’s Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (dTMS) in the U.S. – launching a new era in the treatment of depression. Major Depression – a condition characterized by feelings of deep sadness and loss of interest in life – is one of the most common psychiatric disorders in the United States. It affects over 15 million adults overall, and approximately 1 out of 6 people in the U.S. will suffer a major depressive episode in their lifetime.
Brainsway’s Deep TMS, a safe, non-invasive treatment, is based on patents filed by the National Institute of Health and has been FDA (Federal Drug Administration) approved since 2008. Brainsway’s Deep TMS has been tested in over 60 clinical studies in leading institutions worldwide. Deep TMS treatment stimulates a brain region involved in depression and brings significant improvement to patients. The brief 30 minute outpatient treatments allow for little to no disruption in a patient’s daily activity. Immediately after treatment, patients are able to drive home and return to their daily routine, including work commitments.
Dr. Oscar Morales, Chief Medical Officer at Achieve TMS East, as well as, Founder (2009) and Medical Director of the McLean Hospital TMS Service, states that “the mission of our dedicated professional team is to provide quality care, in collaboration with community providers, and give hope to patients.”
